Walther Rotex RM8 .22 - HFT Rematch 'Ridin' The Hog' - The Shooting & Outdoors Channel

Unhappy with the performance of 'The Hog' in the last HFT run at Cosford, Glen swapped out the .22 RM8's scope, and went for another run. To get a significantly higher score percentage over the new course layout is the challenge. Will a much cheaper and simpler scope be the answer? Not that people read this before commenting...We think the score is higher by one or two points as we missed off a...

Walther LGV Master Air Rifle Review UK #1 - Short Term Review

    Had three pairs and they have some advantages but one major flaw the tongue is made from a canvas material which always degrades quite quickly and creates a weak spot were water will come through,comfortable good sole leather is decent .just the tongue isse budget boot but not greatest due to the tongue.

    Great video. I first purchased the UC version .22 from my local gunsmiths near to were i live. Purchased as "S/H/Pre-Owned" is was bang on accurate out to 40-45 yards coupled with the Hawke scope that came included in the price. After firing the rifle at a not to far to travel "Air Gun Range". The bolt handle kept unscrewing loose, took the gun back after 2x attempts by the gunsmith to fix the bolt handle with "Lock Thread". The gunsmith had no quam or hesitastion in exchanging the .22 UC for a "Full Barrel" .177. Can hit groupings of a full 8-shot mag out to 45 yards the size of a 5p coin time and time again. I'm ex RAF Regiment btw and trained with and fired the awesome 7.62 SLR rifle, where i earned my "Crossed Rifles/Marksmanship" but i was a lot younger back then and my eye sight a bit better than these days (even though i've worn glasses since the age of 9) and i'm not far off 56 but being back on a firing range still gives me great pleasure and enjoyment.

    The cavitation when striking the ballistic gel is a mixture of the round trajectory/spin, and the fpe/speed. The mixture of those causes the round to drag air with it at high force. It's far more noticeable with powder bullets, but it's the same idea. The wound channel will be smaller, less cavitation, because there is less fpe with the pellets.

    The trigger adjustment works fine on my Webley Vulcan .22 - maybe because it's a Birmingham made Gun not Turkish. The serial No stamped on mine is 909944 whatever that means? I bought it from New in the early 80's (£100 on the never never from Empire Stores Catalogue) I've done Nowt' with it & still shoots good as New.

    It seems to me that the restrictions on power are the reason the 177 is the winner. If a 22 is traveling at the same speed as a 177 I bet the 22 wins, no contest.

    I have the rm8 rotex which is as you explain very weighty but I’ve added a best fitting carbon bottle so it now delivers near on 300 good shots . I also have the Weilrauch hw110 laminate which is extremely light and accurate both very good guns. I nearly bought the air arms s410f however chose to buy the hw110 because the air arms shot count per fill was very poor / low in comparison to many other guns

    Always a subject that causes arguments.bluntly we don’t shoot plasticine in the real world.not interested what data appears to show as you smack a bunny at 50 meters with a 22 it drops like a sack of shit…remember the science…it may carry less speed but the 22 also carry’s more mass.after 40 years shooting and hunting with the best rifles money can buy,and budget rifles 22 is more reliable to kill with.

    They forgot to mention, that they where comparing sub 12ftp (under 16,1 joule) rifles to each other, if you aren't british, don't listen to them, watch videos, where calibers are compared, according to the laws, where you live. That's a big oversight, it might lead people to make the wrong decision.

  • @gehtdianschasau8372
    @gehtdianschasau8372 Год назад

    This is only true for restricted airguns. When i look at the weihrauch page, the 5,5mm version has 10 joule more at the muzzle and the same shot count as the 4,5mm. In 16,3 Joule, the energy is the same, so the ballistics of the 5,5 are worse, but the 5,5 has a shot count of 75 and the 4,5 only 50 (edit: i looked up the wrong barrel lenght, it should be more like 140 for the 5,5 and 110 for the 4,5mm). In an uncastrated airgun, 5,5 doesn't drop much worse then 4,5,, has the same amount of shots in one 200ml zylinder, is less affected by wind and shot placement isn't as crucial, it will also sustain more energy over distance.I think you should mention, that your conclusion only applies to british airguns. Would you prefer 4,5 in an FAC rifle?

    I read the comments and nary a word about wind. Nothing against .177 because I have a pump Sheridan. Also, I am in the U S so in the wind I'll take the .22 caliber pcp at 36 fpe, 905fps.

    Awesome review. I was wondering about 5.52 vs 5.53 pellets. Turns out the quality control of pellets makes them basically the same diameter when truly measured. Thanks for that illustration.
